When it comes to choosing a diamond, color matters—and so does clarity around what it means. The IGI Color Scale ranges from D (completely colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown), giving you a clear standard for evaluating a diamond’s appearance.
Why Colorless Matters
Diamonds graded D, E, or F are considered colorless. These stones reflect light beautifully, appearing icy, brilliant, and pure. At Diamonds by Magnús James, our diamonds are hand-selected with E color or better, ensuring you experience the highest level of clarity and light performance.
Less Color, More Sparkle
The closer to D on the scale, the more rare—and valuable—a diamond becomes. Lower color grades can still be stunning, but may carry a visible yellow tint, especially in larger stones.
